ASSOCIATE PRODUCER OPPORTUNITY

BBC Film & BFI-backed Feature Film - Shudder Films & Lunapark Pictures

Shudder Films & Lunapark Pictures are seeking an Associate Producer to join the team on a new independent feature film supported by BBC Film and the BFI, shooting in Dublin and London from August 2025.

The role is intended for an early-career producer ready to take a step towards their first feature credit. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience producing short films, television, or commercial work who are actively developing their own projects and seeking to gain first-hand experience across the full lifecycle of a feature film production. 

We  also particularly welcome participation from producers from under-represented groups, which also includes regional participation, socioeconomic background and caring responsibilities.

About the Role

The Associate Producer role will be varied, dynamic and hopefully a stepping stone for

aspiring producers ready to take the leap to helming their own feature films. The Associate Producer will

work closely with the lead producers across all phases of production, including:

  • Casting, financing, and crewing

  • Creative development and production planning

  • Legal, financial, and practical production matters

  • Contributing during post-production, sales, marketing, and delivery

  • The successful candidate will receive an Associate Producer credit on the film


This is a hands-on, learning-by-doing role. The Associate Producer will be part of the core production team and expected to take responsibility for specific elements of prep, shoot, and post, depending on experience and availability. They will attend team meetings, support departmental needs, and serve as a key point of contact on the production.

Desired Experience

This role is most suitable for someone seeking their first feature film producing credit.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience as a producer or in a producer-adjacent role on short films, television, commercials or digital content

  • Are actively developing or have produced their own creative work

  • Have strong communication and organisational skills

  • Are confident working in a fast-paced production environment

  • Have some experience with casting, budgeting, or crew coordination

  • Have on-set experience (desirable)

Terms

Location: Prep and shoot in Dublin and London. Post-production for the film will take place in London, but some work may be done remotely. Travel will be required. Accommodation will be provided where necessary. 

Start Date: Immediate Start

Contract: Full-time during prep and shoot from August - October 2025. (approx. 10–12 weeks), part-time thereafter until delivery in June 2026.

Structure of payments and part-time terms during post to be agreed in line with production schedule
